HUSBYRINGEN

Husbyringen is a 60 km long string of unique industrial and cultural places. It is perfect for  a day tour by car or motorbike. To be even closer to the surrounding nature you can of course go by bike. Husbyringen runs through the local industrial communities of Långshyttan, Silfhytteå, Kloster, Husby-Smedby and Stjränsund.

LÅNGSHYTTANS MOOSEPARK

Långshyttans moosepark is for veryone who wishes to experiance a close encounter with the king of the forest, the moose. The park is conveniently situated nearby and is a real treat for the whole family. It is open during summer and allows you to come very close to the impressive animals.

FISHING AND HUNTING TRIPS

Excellent fishing and hunting areas are located close to Långshyttan and allows the outdoor enthusiast to enjoy beautiful nature with a rich wildlife. Dalälven is one of Swedens major rivers where fishing trips and caneing may be arranged for those interested.

SUNDBORN

In Sundborn just north of Falun you will find not only a genuine Dalarna community but also the residence of one of Swedens most well-known artists, Carl Larsson. Here he lived and worked together with his wife designer Karin Larsson and their children. The well preseved residence is today a museum open for public. Cafeteria, restaurant and museum shop also available.

FALU COPPER MINE

In 1992 the operation of Falu copper mine owned by the Stora Kopparberget was terminated after a more than 1000 year long tradition of mining in the area. Dark, dirty shafts and isles filled with rumble and smoke is replaced with well lit passages welcoming visitors from all over the world deep into the heart of the mine..

WINTER ACTIVITIES

There are many winter activities i the area. For example, on lake Grycken the ice is plowed clear from snow to make a long skating tour possible, in Romme there are fine possibilities for downhill skiing and nearby you will find several trails for cross country skiing.
